Feel Good Energy, Inside and Out

Reiki Healing Therapy

Hey There

I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s talk Reiki — a gentle, uplifting practice that helps you feel more balanced, centered, and totally YOU. Whether you’re dealing with stress, aches, or just feel "off," Reiki can help you reset, recharge, and reconnect. Think of it like a spa day for your soul.

What is Reiki, Anyway?

Reiki (pronounced RAY-key) is a Japanese energy healing practice that works by channeling life force energy into your body to help you feel your best. It’s like a power-up for your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. No needles, no cracking, no awkward chanting — just pure, relaxing energy flow.

You lay down, breathe deeply, and let the magic happen. Reiki can help with:

  • Stress and Anxiety: Bye-bye overwhelm, hello calm.

  • Emotional Balance: Release old emotional baggage and embrace joy.

  • Better Sleep: Say goodnight to tossing and turning.

  • Physical Relief: Ease tension, aches, and discomfort.

  • Immune Support: Keep your body’s natural defenses strong.

How Does Reiki Work?

Imagine your body as a flowing river of energy. Sometimes, that river gets clogged by stress, illness, or even life’s ups and downs. Reiki acts like a gentle guide, clearing the blockages and getting things moving again. You don’t have to "do" anything — just relax and let your body soak up the good vibes.

What’s a Reiki Master?

I’m so glad you asked! As a Reiki Master, I’ve spent years learning how to work with energy, and I’m here to guide you through the experience with care and compassion. Think of me as your friendly, energy-tuning BFF, helping you feel amazing from the inside out.

What to Expect During Your Session

Here’s the lowdown: You’ll arrive at my cozy office, where calming vibes and soft music set the tone. After a quick chat about your goals, you’ll lie fully clothed on a comfy table as I gently guide healing energy into your body. I may use:

  • Healing Crystals: Tailored to your needs for an extra boost.

  • Essential Oils: To enhance relaxation and balance.

  • Chakra Assessment: To target areas needing attention.

And here’s the fun part: If it’s your first session, you’ll get to take home a crystal specially chosen for your unique energy needs.

Below is some general information to consider when consulting with your physician, which is based on our experience. • Malaria medication: Atovaquone-Proguanil 250-100 has been tolerated well. This medication and dose is good for shorter trips (e.g., less than 30 days), as you only have to start 1 day in advance of arrival and can stop the medication after 7 days of return. • What amount of cash and tips do you recommend?
Below are some recommendations on gratuities for the Safari portion, and the amount/denomination of US cash to bring with you on your trip. Note that these are only guidelines as tips are optional. • Driver guides share tips equally, so a recommended range for tipping your guides is $150-$250 per traveler and can be given to the main driver guide at the end of the trip (note: there maybe an assistant guide on your trip). • Lodges: $10-$15 per night per person. Each lodge has a tip box typically located next to the front desk. For multiple days at the same location you can tip on the last day of stay. Tips for meals are not necessary or expected. • Laundry Services: If you are planning to use the laundry services at the lodges (most have them), figure an average of $1-$2 per item for the service, and a tip of 10% of the total bill. Plan your laundering to occur on the first day of a multiple day stay. Your guides will help you coordinate. • Misc: There will be various people at lodges helping with getting luggage of the vehicles, so just like in the States, we typically tip $1-$2 per traveler on each occurrence. A good estimate would be a maximum of $30 per traveler for the entire trip. • Cash: You will want $20-$100s if you decide to tip the driver guides, and $1s, $5s, and $10s for everything else. We have never had a problem using our Visa or MasterCard in Tanzania/Rwanda if you plan ahead with your bank. Credit cards (Visa and MC) can also be used for gifts purchases, etc. The Tanzanian Schilling (TSh) and Rwandan Franc are the local currencies and trade at 2,300-to-$1 and 1,225-to-$1, respectively. For the Rwanda portion of the trip, the recommendations are: Rangers - $20 per person that will be shared with assistants. Trackers - $10 per person that will be shared with all trackers. Porters - $10 per person that will be shared with each porter in your group. Porters are not necessary but it is a source of income for locals. Driver Guide - $100-$150 per person for the entire trip. Lodge - $10-$15 per person per night.

  • What is the visa application process?
Tourist visas for Tanzania can be obtained in two ways: when you arrive at the international airport during your transfer from Kigali to Seronera - you will be traveling through Mwanza, which should be selected on your online visa application under port of entry - or online prior to your arrival. The visa cost is $100 regardless of doing it online or in country. If getting the visa in country, you will be guided to the appropriate counter upon arrival to the airport. IMPORTANT: You will need to bring a new, unmarked $100 bill for this purchase. Below is guidance for applying for the visa online. The online visa application process for Rwanda is very straightforward, costs $50, and can be done at THIS LINK. Online TZ Visa Application: There are a lot of third-party online services that you should avoid. HERE is the website you should use, and Kindred Safaris will set up a call with you to help with the process.
  • What should I pack?
A packing list will be provided based on your trip details. You can find a sample packing list in our brochure, available for download on this webpage.
