Dominican Tree House Village is a dream similar to a magical fairy tale. The Tree House Cabins are hidden in a tropical valley that is located in the core of an exotic Caribbean jungle. Rope bridges and jungle paths joining the cabins allow you to completely immerse yourself into the Caribbean experience.
The open-air design allows you to feel the breeze, hear the bird call, and connect with the immense vitality of jungle life – completely mosquito free! You can hike the meandering paths, swim in the lagoon, and relax by the evening fireside. Borrow the complimentary bicycles for a short ride to the beach, or hang out in a swing with a good book. Break free from the busy world and embark in an adventure vacation like no other you’ve experienced before.
This 7-day, 6-night Whole Image Wellness Adventure Retreat is the perfect break for the cold, dark days of winter. The Dominican Republic is a short plane ride away from the States, and everything has been planned for you so all you have to do is show up and relax!
THE RETREAT
Guests will have the opportunity to practice two yoga classes each day in the unique Yoga Dome while gazing out over the jungle. Two planned day-long excursions will satisfy your need for excitement, but this trip is really all about letting go of the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relaxing in paradise! To that end, we're throwing in a 60-minute massage for each guest!
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Dominican Tree House Village is unlike your typical Caribbean beach resort, so I acknowledge this retreat may not be for everyone. I designed this trip with the adventure-seeker in mind: the person who is always looking for new experiences to challenge them in some way, but also the person who wants a story to tell when they return. Please take a look at our FAQ section to get a better idea of what to expect from a Tree House resort!
ACCOMMODATIONS
Each tree house is nestled among the trees and features amazing jungle views. A queen bed is draped with a mosquito net (though you won't need it in this no-see-um free paradise!), curtains and a back wall made completely from hand woven jungle vines for your privacy. Each tree house also has a locking trunk for storing valuables as well as a private bathroom attached to the back with sink, toilet, and fresh water shower.
MEALS
Delicious meals prepared onsite come farm to
table and feature fresh, organic, locally grown fruits and vegetables in every dish. Fresh homemade bread is baked and served daily! Vegan and Vegetarian options are available upon request.
For lunch, we will be provided with a voucher for Mami’s. Sit at a cozy table or lounge in a chair with a coconut in hand. The lunch options are catch of the day, chicken, or a burger, accompanied with local sides such as tostones.
EXCURSIONS
Two full-day excursions are included in your retreat package.
El Limon Waterfall, Horseback & ATV Tour
We will set out on horseback to the Limon Waterfall, located deep within a tropical forest on the Samana Peninsula. Each guest will have a guide for the trip to help with horses and whatever else you'll need. You are the V.I.P! After the horse ride, you will find yourself at the foot of the spectacular 55-meter waterfall where you can swim, lounge, take photos, watch the locals leap off of the cliffs, or even jump yourself! After enjoying the crystal clear waters of Limon, we will get treated to an excellent Dominican home-style meal. Then we head to remote beaches in the Limon area, these are some of the most beautiful beaches in Las Terrenas. Here you will feel as though you have stepped onto the set of a movie. You can relax, play in the waves or try your hand at surfing or bodyboarding.
Island Adventure Excursion
More than an excursion, this trip is an adventure into, and a communion with nature! Departing from the town of Samana, we will travel by boat across the beautiful Samana bay to two different snorkel locations. All the snorkeling equipment is included at no extra charge. Enjoy snorkeling a beautiful Caribbean coral reef, sailing through the bay, and a picture-perfect lunch at Cayo Levantado Island.
Rum cocktails and fresh fruit provided, as well as, a mask, snorkel and fins.
THE PROPERTY
Samana Zipline Tour
The owner of the Tree House Village is also the man who had the vision to pioneer an impressive zip-line in the mountains between Samana and the North Coast. He hired German engineers and spared no expense in building the tallest and highest-rated zip line experience in all of the Caribbean. From what looks like a wrecked ship on top of the mountain, visitors begin their downhill voyage by walking the plank. Reaching speeds of up to 40 mph, you criss-cross from platform to platform taking in the 360-degree breathtaking views! You will finally reach the bottom after an exhilarating ride across 12 lines and 13 stations. The zip-line drops you off right near a seasonal waterfall, Cascada Lulu, and the back entrance of the Dominican Tree House Village. One Zipline Adventure per person is included in your package!!!

FAQ
1. Do I need a passport to visit the Dominican Republic?
A valid passport is required for the USA, Canada, Britain, Austrailia and all other EU nations.
2. What are the room types like?
The rooms are anywhere from 10-40 feet off the ground. They are incredibly sturdy and well built. Some are on stilts, and a few are in trees. You have incredible views of the jungle foliage.
The room has privacy curtains, a comfortable bed with a mosquito net around it, a locking chest for your valuables, and towels for bathing that are not to be taken off-property.
If you plan on having food in your room, bring a sealing container to keep it in.
All treehouses have a private bathroom attached, with the exception of our one Classic Treehouse.
Our VIP Suites are located high up the valley with breathtaking views! Staircase access for these rooms are a bit of a hike so make sure you’re up for the journey!
3. What are the bathrooms like?
Our bathrooms at the Dominican Treehouse Village are simple and clean. Each Tree House, with the exception of our one Classic Treehouse, has a private bathroom with a cold water shower, sink, and toilet.
We also have community bathrooms and showers around the property that have hot water for guests to use.
The VIPs rooms have hot water outdoor showers.
4. Is there internet available at the Tree House Village?
We do not have internet available for guests to use on the property, but there is a small Wi-Fi cafe just outside the property, about a 5-minute walk away. You can connect to this for a one-time fee of $10USD and use it to check messages and check-in with family, though it’ll probably be a little slow for anything requiring a lot of data. Netflix will probably have to wait until you get back home!
5. Can I use my cell phone on the property?
In town, there is cell phone coverage (extra charges may apply – call your carrier to get an international plan before traveling to save money).
At the Tree House Village, there are a couple of pockets of coverage depending on the weather. Cell phone coverage is not reliable at the Tree House Village.
On excursions, cell phone coverage is hit and miss.
In case there is any emergencies your family could contact you via the reservations team. They will forward the message to the front desk.
6. How does tipping work at the village?
We do not have any mandatory charges for tipping or gratuity, and we do not expect anyone to tip unless they have received exemplary service.
For those wishing to give, here is a very loose guide as to how much of a tip would be appropriate in different circumstances:
– For services that take no more than a few minutes such as taking bags to your room or other small gestures, a small $1-2 tip is appropriate.
– For anything requiring a longer span of attention and service, such as your taxi or guides on the Zip Line, a $5-10 tip would be appropriate.
– For anything that requires extensive attention and service such as guiding for all-day excursions, a $10-20 tip is appropriate.
Once again, these are just guidelines, please give what you feel is appropriate.
Our staff works hard and is considerate of every guests’ experience. If you would like to tip our staff, there is a tip box at the bar that gets shared between all of our workers and you can leave a tip there for everyone at the end of your stay if you wish.
